Capacity Was Never Meant to Stay Buried
March 2026
There is a quiet violence in burying what you were given. The parable of the talents is not really about money, and it is not really about return. It is about trust — and what we do with what has been entrusted to us when no one is watching.
The one who buried his talent said he was afraid. He called his master a hard man. But the master's rebuke was not about the missing return — it was about the missing stewardship. He was punished not for failing to multiply, but for failing to even try.
Capacity was never meant to stay buried. The wealth within you — your gifts, your story, your relationships, your calling — was entrusted, not owned. It was given for faithful contribution, not for safekeeping alone. The work of the steward is to recognize what she carries, steward it with intention, develop it with structure, and multiply it for the One who gave it.
So I ask you, gently: what have you buried? What capacity have you hidden under the guise of humility, or fear, or waiting for the right moment? The right moment is the one you are in. Unearth it. Begin.
